Despite this growth, challenges remain. One major issue is the limited availability of grain, which is essential for feed production. China's per capita grain consumption is below 400 kg, with less than 20% of total grain used for feed. Only about 25% of feed grain is processed into compound feed, and there is potential to increase animal production by improving this ratio.

The relationship between the feed and aquaculture industries is interdependent, requiring coordinated development. Additionally, the raw material industry must keep pace with the growing demand from the feed processing sector.

Feed product quality remains relatively low compared to international standards, with conversion rates 20-30% lower. This leads to a cycle of low price, low quality, and low efficiency.

Process equipment also presents challenges. Domestic machines often lack stability, have short lifespans, and high power consumption. Large-scale equipment is still under development and relies heavily on imports. Equipment for resource utilization is not yet widely available.

Magnetic separation technology is crucial for removing metal impurities from feed. Simple magnetic separators like grid-type and slide-type devices are commonly used, though they may have lower efficiency. Permanent magnet cylinder and drum separators offer better performance, with iron removal rates exceeding 99%. These technologies help ensure feed quality and safety.
