Five categories of polished wool balls
When it comes to different types of wool pads categorized by their usage methods, here’s what you need to know:
First up, we have adhesive wool balls. These come in sizes ranging from 3 to 10 inches. The front is made of premium Australian fur, available in white and black. The back features a Velcro strap that also comes in white or black. They’re designed with either protective or non-protective edges, and they’re meant to be attached directly onto a polishing disc.
Next, there’s the lace-shaped wool balls. Similar in size to the adhesive ones, these also range from 3 to 10 inches. Their front is again made of high-quality Australian fur, but this time it’s only available in white. The back is either original leather or leather cloth, while the sides are crafted with strong elastic fabric. There’s even a belt through the sleeve so they can be tied onto a polishing disc.
Then we have the disc-shaped wool pads. These are often referred to as bowl-shaped or single-sided wool pads. Sizes include 5 inches (125mm), 6 inches (150mm), 7 inches (180mm), all with a 20mm inner hole and 30mm wool length. The wool is knitted onto velvet fabric, then cast and glued onto a resin disc. On the reverse side, there’s a snap mechanism. One version of these disc-shaped pads uses high-quality Australian sheepskin for the polished surface.
Moving on, we have double-sided wool pads. These are available in diameters of 7 inches (180mm) and 8 inches (200mm). They feature a 16mm hole screw and 30mm wool length. The manufacturing process is quite similar to that of the disc-shaped wool pads.
Finally, there are spherical wool balls. These come in diameters of 1 inch, 1.5 inches, 2 inches, 2.5 inches, and 3 inches. Wool length, handle diameter, and overall length can be customized based on customer preferences. A variation of this type uses high-quality sheepskin imported from Australia, maintaining the same specifications and production techniques as mentioned earlier.
