Pesticide for pest control of fruit and vegetable crops

When dealing with pests and diseases in fruit and vegetable crops, it's important to choose the right pesticide based on the type of pest and the crop being treated. The Chinese Pesticide Network has compiled a brief guide to help farmers make informed decisions about pesticide use.

For citrus and other cash crops, such as those affected by red and yellow spider mites, several effective options are available. These include chlorpyrifos, avermectin, quinone, and quetiapine. For specific issues like the citrus red spider, it is recommended to use avermectin combined with strontium, ling, kruth, or nissoram. For leaf miners, scale insects, and aphids, a range of insecticides such as chlorpyrifos, phoxim, profenofos, acephate, trichlorfon, dichlorvos, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, avermectin, sputum, insecticide, quetiapine, and smear have shown good results.

In the case of vegetables, when dealing with pests like caterpillars and mites, farmers can use chlorpyrifos, phoxim, acephate, trichlorfon, dichlorvos, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, avipoxin, insecticide, and methomyl. These products are known for their effectiveness against common vegetable pests.

For specific pests such as Plutella xylostella (diamondback moth), Spodoptera exigua (beet armyworm), and Spodoptera litura (cutworm), the same group of pesticides—chlorpyrifos, phoxim, profenofos, acephate, trichlorfon, dichlorvos, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, fenvalerate, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, avermectin, scorpion, insecticide, quetiapine, and methomyl—are often used. It's crucial to rotate these products periodically to prevent resistance development and ensure long-term effectiveness.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and consider environmental impact when selecting and applying pesticides. Using the correct product at the right time and in the proper concentration can significantly improve crop health while minimizing harm to beneficial insects and the surrounding ecosystem.
