From the refinery to the end user, oil must pass through multiple stages, and a significant amount of evaporation loss occurs during loading and unloading. According to data from the United States on oil and gas recovery, each loading and unloading process results in about 0.18% volatile loss, with a total loss rate of 0.72% after four such operations. To address this issue, ZS-221 solar heat reflection and anti-corrosion coating technology can be applied to storage tanks, pipelines, and tank trucks. While water spraying is simple, it requires careful scheduling of start and stop times. Moreover, excessive water exposure can accelerate corrosion of the tank, leading to rusting. On the other hand, ZS-221 not only reflects solar heat but also provides anti-corrosion properties, helping maintain the appearance and integrity of the tank area over time. Thirdly, ZS-221 contributes to resource conservation and environmental protection. It is highly durable, with excellent resistance to weather, moisture, yellowing, powdering, heat, humidity, salt spray, and mildew. Its service life exceeds eight years, reducing maintenance costs and improving cost efficiency. Additionally, it saves valuable water and energy resources, making it a more sustainable choice compared to traditional cooling methods. Fourthly, the application of ZS-221 can lead to substantial savings. A 5000m³ tank can save approximately 15 tons of gasoline per month. For frequently operated tanks like vaulted gasoline or internal floating roof tanks, the investment can be recouped in under six months. This makes it a highly attractive solution for both economic and operational reasons. The ZS-221 solar heat-reflective anti-corrosion coating technology has proven to be highly effective in reducing surface temperatures and minimizing heat buildup in oil and gas storage systems. During summer, it can lower the temperature of floating roof tanks by over 20°C and vaulted tanks by 10–20°C. This effectively replaces water cooling and significantly reduces evaporation losses—up to 80% for "small breathing" losses and a major reduction in "large breathing" losses.
