Aluminum Alloy 2A14 Characteristics and Mechanical Properties

Characteristics and scope of application:

From the perspective of the composition and performance of 2A14, it can be a hard aluminum alloy or a 2A50 wrought aluminum alloy. The difference between it and 2A50 is that the copper content is higher, so the strength is higher and the thermal strength is better, but it is in the hot state. The plasticity is not as good as 2A50. The alloy has good machinability, resistivity, good spot welding and seam welding performance, and poor arc welding and gas welding performance; it can be strengthened by heat treatment and has squeezing effect; therefore, the longitudinal and transverse properties are improved. Difference; Corrosion resistance is not high, but the trend of intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking in the artificial aging state.

Mechanical properties:

Tensile strength σb(MPa): ≥440

Elongation δ5 (%): ≥10

Note: Longitudinal mechanical properties of bar at room temperature Sample size: Bar diameter (square rod, hexagonal rod inscribed circle diameter) ≤ 22

Heat treatment specification:

1) Homogenization annealing: heating 475-490°C; holding for 12-14 hours; furnace cooling.

2) Completely annealed: heating 350 ~ 400 °C; with the effective thickness of the material, the holding time 30 ~ 120min; 30 ~ 50 °C / h speed with the furnace to 300 °C, then air cooling.

3) rapid annealing: heating 350 ~ 460 °C; holding time 30 ~ 120min; air cooling.

4) Quenching and aging: quenching 495 ~ 505 °C, water cooling; natural aging room temperature 96h.
