Reasonable selection and correct use of grooving knives

In the turning process, grooving is often encountered, such as the undercut on the shaft parts, the overrunning groove of the grinding wheel, the spring groove, and the groove of the sealing groove and the inner hole groove on some parts. Although grooving is a relatively simple process, it is different from other turning operations and has its particularity. If the grooving knife is selected and used improperly, it will cause the grooving to be out of tolerance and the grooving knife will be damaged. To this end, this article describes the rational selection and correct use of the grooving knife, for reference when grooving.
