One cable tunnel sets multiple firsts in Anhui

On December 7, after a 24-hour safe trial operation, the Huguang Road cable tunnel in Chaohu City, Hefei was successfully put into operation. This is the first cable tunnel under the lake in Anhui Power Grid, and it is also the longest and deepest cable tunnel in the province.

According to reports, the newly constructed Chaohu Bridge overlaps with the 110kV West Silver Line, Chaoqi Line and other urban power supply "arteries". In order to ensure the safe and rapid progress of construction and to further improve the reliability of regional power supply, a 110kV Huguang Road cable tunnel was planned and constructed simultaneously with the Chaohu Bridge, and the high-voltage line previously located above the lake was moved into the interior.

It can be seen from the project site that the new Chaohu Bridge has been erected and is expected to be officially opened to traffic in the near future. The entrance of the Huguang Road cable tunnel is just tens of meters away from the bridge. Hovering for dozens of weeks along the narrow and winding stairs, the scene in front of me is amazing. The almost circular tunnel is 3.5 meters in diameter, and the high-voltage cables are neatly arranged on the metal frames on both sides of the wall, extending to the invisible distance of the tunnel.

"This cable tunnel has set a number of firsts in Anhui, and it is even second to none in the East China Power Grid!" According to Han Lei, a staff member of the Cable Inspection Center of Hefei Power Supply Company, the tunnel is 780 meters long and 42 meters deep. At present, the first lake-bottom cable tunnel of Anhui Power Grid, its depth and length broke the new record of cable tunnel in the province.

The Chaohu Bridge is expected to open to traffic within this year.
