Microcomputer Relay Protection Tester Usage
**Microcomputer Relay Protection Tester Instructions:**
**Hardware Requirements**
The PC used should have a minimum of a Pentium 200 processor, 32MB of memory, and a monitor with a resolution of at least 800 x 600. It is compatible with Windows 98 operating systems and can be used on both laptops and desktop computers.
**Connecting the Hardware**
Before connecting, ensure that both the tester and the PC are turned off. Connect the 9-pin communication cable from the tester to the PC's communication port. Once connected, power on both the tester and the PC. On the tester’s offline software main menu, select the “PC†option to enter the communication status.
**Software Operation**
Start the PC with the Windows 98 operating system. It is recommended to set the display resolution to 800 × 600. Open the “PSZDKJ†file located on the desktop to access various test functions.
**AC and DC Testing**
This module supports testing of AC voltage, current, and power relays, as well as automatic or manual tests for various devices. It also supports DC voltage and current relay testing in both automatic and manual modes.
This program is one of the most powerful modules available. It allows users to set voltage, current amplitude, phase angle, and frequency for each phase. The values can change step by step according to the set time, enabling flexible testing of various relays and protective devices. Parameters such as operating value, return value, and operating time can be measured.
The initial settings are: 57.73V voltage, 5A current, 120° phase difference, and 50Hz frequency. If the “DC†column is selected, it indicates that the output is DC. If not selected, the parameter remains fixed.
**Automatic Testing**
During automatic testing, the changing parameters will adjust automatically based on the set step size and interval time. Other values remain constant. When the relay triggers, the program returns to its default state.
**Manual Testing**
In manual mode, the program continuously outputs the current value. Clicking the “Add†button increases the variable value by one step, while clicking “Decrease†decreases it. When the relay operates, the action value and time can be recorded. The operator can then reverse the parameter changes until the relay returns, recording the return value and time.
**Test Interval Time**
This is the time between each step change during automatic testing. Users can open, save, or restore data through the interface. Saved data can be stored in a hard disk file using the “Save Parameters†function and recalled later with “Open Parameters.†After testing, the interface data can be restored to its original state using the “Restore Parameters†function.
**Real-Time Data Display**
During testing, the computer automatically calculates and displays line voltage, negative sequence voltage, zero sequence voltage, and more. It also shows vector diagrams for current and voltage. The vectors can be zoomed in or out using the magnifying glass feature.
**Basic Performance of Microcomputer Relay Protection Tester**
1. **Sensitivity**: The ability to detect faults is typically expressed as a sensitivity factor.
2. **Reliability**: No rejection actions occur during operation.
3. **Speed**: Faults or anomalies are cleared in the shortest possible time.
4. **Selectivity**: Faults are isolated at the smallest possible point to maintain power to non-faulty areas.
When selecting a protection plan, it is important to meet these four basic performance criteria, along with economic considerations. This includes not only the cost of the protection device and maintenance, but also the potential losses caused by malfunctions or failures.
