When working in an environment where chloride, fluoride, sulfuric acid, or oxalic acid is present at concentrations exceeding 50%, it's crucial to choose the right eyewash station. In such cases, only stainless steel eyewashers coated with ABS or high-performance stainless steel models that have undergone special treatment are suitable. While standard stainless steel 304 eyewash units can resist corrosion from common substances like acids, alkalis, salts, and oils under normal conditions, they are not resistant to high-concentration chloride, fluoride, sulfuric acid, or oxalic acid. Using a standard 304 stainless steel eyewasher in these environments can lead to significant damage within just six months.

Currently, only advanced foreign manufacturers have successfully addressed this issue by using special treatments on stainless steel 304. Coating methods such as ABS dipping or painting do not provide sufficient resistance to harsh chemicals. It’s important to understand that the terms "ABS dip" and "ABS spray" refer to different processes. An ABS dip involves using powdered ABS material rather than liquid, which offers better adhesion and durability.

1. Features of ABS powder impregnation: This method provides strong adhesion, with a thickness of 250-300 microns and excellent corrosion resistance. 2. Features of ABS liquid impregnation: Although the adhesion strength may be lower, the corrosion resistance is still very strong, with a similar thickness range.

Second: According to local winter temperature

In most regions of China, except for the southern areas, temperatures often drop below 0°C during winter. This can cause water to stagnate in eyewash stations, making them unusable when needed. To prevent freezing, anti-freeze eyewash units, electric heating systems, or heated eyewash devices should be used.

Anti-freeze eyewash stations are designed to drain all water from the system when in use or in standby mode. These units come in automatic and manual versions, with automatic types being more commonly used. In East, Central, and Southwest China, where permafrost depth ranges from 20 to 30 cm, insulating the water inlet pipe can help prevent freezing. Above-ground anti-freeze eyewashers with automatic drainage are ideal for these areas, ensuring the unit remains functional even in cold weather.

However, in the Northeast, North, and Northwest regions, where permafrost can reach 50 to 190 cm deep, above-ground solutions are not sufficient. In these areas, buried-type automatic anti-freeze eyewashers are necessary to ensure proper function and protection against freezing.
