At a regular press conference held by China's Ministry of Commerce on December 18, spokesperson Shen Danyang emphasized the government's active role in supporting the sustainable growth of the country's solar power industry. According to Shen, the ministry has been working closely with relevant departments to develop and implement policies that promote a stable and healthy development environment for the sector.
Shen noted that the photovoltaic industry is currently facing significant challenges, including international trade barriers and increasing competition. In response, the Ministry of Commerce is actively assisting domestic companies in dealing with anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations from foreign markets. The ministry is also encouraging the industry to explore new markets and expand its global footprint.
In addition, the Ministry is taking steps to ensure the orderly import and export of photovoltaic products, aiming to maintain market stability and prevent unfair practices. It is also promoting stronger international collaboration between Chinese solar firms and their counterparts in Europe and the United States, with the goal of fostering mutual benefits and long-term partnerships.
"We are committed to engaging in dialogue and cooperation with other countries to address trade disputes in a constructive manner," Shen said. "China will continue to monitor ongoing investigations and legal proceedings closely, and we reserve the right to take further actions within the framework of the World Trade Organization if necessary."
