It's important to carefully control the process to avoid the grinding wheel from touching the straight edge of the workpiece during lateral feeding. Additionally, the dial indicator should be used to ensure that the surface being ground is parallel to the reference surface and aligned with the longitudinal stroke direction of the table.

2. Right-Angle Groove Grinding Method for IKO Tapered Roller Bearings

This method is commonly used for grinding right-angle grooves, such as the T-slot on machine tool tables. When working with IKO tapered roller bearings, the first step is to clamp the workpiece and align it with the reference plane, ensuring that the direction of the table's longitudinal stroke is parallel. During the grinding of the straight groove, both ends of the grinding wheel should be shaped into a concave form. The two side faces of the groove are then ground sequentially using the front and rear surfaces of the grinding wheel in one clamping operation. For optimal results, the bearing should be pressed against the concave part of the grinding wheel’s end face, which provides sharp cutting performance. The horizontal feed amount should be carefully controlled to ensure even material removal without damaging the workpiece.
