(3) The hazard of arc radiation. Arc light generated by welding mainly includes infrared rays, visible light, and ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet rays mainly cause harm to the human body through photochemical effects. It damages glasses and exposed skin, causing keratoconjunctivitis (electrooptic ophthalmia) and cutaneous erythema.

Protective measures: Improve ventilation at the workplace. Ventilation can be divided into natural ventilation and mechanical ventilation, where mechanical ventilation dust removal and detoxification are effective. In the case of welding inside a closed room with poor natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation must be provided. Strengthen personal protection. Workers must use appropriate protective glasses, masks, masks, gloves, white protective clothing, insulated shoes, and must not wear short-sleeved clothing or roll up sleeves.
