In the "Convention", there are 7 important mahogany tree species in the first and second class of protected plants, which means that these trees must have an import and export license or a re-export certificate before they can conduct international trade. "Convention" stipulates that the country of origin of mahogany materials began to prohibit logging of mahogany and control export trade. It is reported that from May this year, Vietnam will take the lead in raising the export tax on rosewood raw materials by 200%; in mid-October, the Vietnam and Laos customs declaration companies informed the Chinese partners that all Dalbergia orders ordered in these two countries must be completed by October 25. In the future, the Vietnamese government will strictly prohibit exports. In addition, Myanmar, one of the major exporters of rosewood, also plans to stop exporting logs from April 1, 2014.
